Yaaaaaaaaawwwn

I.  Am.  Tired.  Not just tired but exhausted.  I even tried to go to bed at my new self imposed bedtime of 10 pm last night.  I have been fighting off a cold all weekend & I am really hoping it does not turn into bronchitis, as it has the past 3 or 4 winters.  If you've never had bronchitis, try to avoid getting it at all costs.  Nothing is worse than a 24 hour cough.  The only time you're not coughing is when you're sleeping & that's only because you have overdosed on Tussinex.  There's a reason that the label says DO NOT TAKE MORE THAN ONE TEASPOONFUL.  Me being the doubting Thomas that I am said, 1 teaspoon?  What's that going to do for me?  & took a TABLESPOONFUL.  Yeah, mistake #1.

I've never really believed that medications could make you hallucinate, that is, until I took this stuff.  Never again.  The next morning the rest of this pink gloppy cherry tasting crap went right down the kitchen sink.  Stick to the instructions people, or if possible, don't get sick.

Now having bronchitis doesn't deter me from working out, why should it?  I mean think of all the free gym space you have when you walk in with your tuberculosis-like cough.  Not only do you get your choice of treadmill, but you can pretty much assure that people will get out of your way.  Listen, I'm not going to infect you.  I have bronchitis, my cold is looooong gone by now.  My lungs are just on fire.  I'm sure there's something that you can catch from me, but I think there's some debate on whether or not bronchitis can be spread.  OH it probably can, but who cares.  I obviously got this cold from someone, I'm only returning the favor.

Tonight I have to go to the dentist for what seems like the 50th cavity.  I think I have more cavities than teeth at this point.  How is that possible?  & then off to get some kind of run in before I rush home to bed.  Tomorrow is the big birthday & I have been eating non-stop all week with no end in sight!  Birthday cake here I come!

October

October is birthday time!  My birthday is this week & it's not some big milestone.  It's a lot older than I think I'd like to be, so I think I'm going to start lying.  Who cares?  I'm only fooling myself, right?  Wrong! Anyway.  It is starting to feel like October, boo!  The 80s & 90s are gone, but I'm hoping for Indian Summer soon.  I do like this time of year, but it does not compare to summer at all.

Last night I got back to my plan & did go to the gym.  We were suffering for the past 2 days with the remnants of Tropical Storm Nicole, which was a huge pain in the butt.  It did rain, but never when it was supposed to, making any type of outdoor workout nonexistent.  But I did stick to my guns & jumped right back in to my workout plan.  I have to admit, it was pretty nice not going to the gym & planning how to squeeze everything in with my after work workouts, but that time has passed & if I'm going to start getting back into the groove & training for Ireland, it has to start now.

In the meantime, I have been working on a knitting project that I started over 2 years ago.  Hey, yarn isn't milk, it doesn't go bad!  Below is a picture of my sweater/shrug & it is looking pretty good, if I do say so myself!

My only problem is that I was really getting a lot done on this with the help of a row counter, but for some reason.....I lost track of what row I was working on.  Which isn't too big of a deal, but I was supposed to mark my progress so the piece would come out even, so now I have to get some expert advice (Dori, Monica & Leslie) so I can finish this before Springtime.

Well, I hope everyone is enjoying their first nice fall weekend in October.  If you're out of birthday gift ideas, cold hard cash & gift certificates are always welcome!  Snicker snicker.  :)
