World Wide Knit In Public Day

Today is World Wide Knit in Public Day & I am going to try to get more accomplished on my dress.  Hoh, what a terrible time I have had with a straight knitting project.  I had to start over three times!  I can't even begin to explain why I was having so many problems, but it looks like I am off & running in the right direction now.  I have about 5" knit.  It's supposed to be a dress, so we all know that I haven't gotten much done.

I wish I had a picture.  The yarn is linen & let me tell you, it is not for the faint of heart.  I do love the way it knits, but I originally wanted to knit it on wooden needles, my personal fave, but metal won out in the end.  The yarn just didn't slip well on the wooden & I am now the proud owner of another pair of size 6 circular needles.

I do love the pattern & I really am hoping everyone is telling me the truth about how it will go quickly since there are so many decreases.  (Skeptical here).  I'm hoping to have this ready in 2 weeks (very very wishful thinking) so I have to get cracking on it this week & next if I am to have any chance of finishing it.

I wish I had a picture to share, perhaps I will take one tonight of all of us knitting in public.  We will be at the Dublin House in Red Bank if anyone would like to join us, knitters & non-knitters welcome.  Then off to yoga!
