New Name

I looked at my blog title this weekend.  Last year, it seemed like a good title, but it's boring.  I'm not always great at coming up with something new.  Perhaps I will ask my Facebook friends for a new title.  I mean, after I complete this 70.3, I'm going to have to change the title.  Hmmmm........I never really thought about this until the other day.

This weekend I also started to think, what am I going to do after I complete this half Ironman?  I mean, I should have a new goal, right?  Yes, there is always Alcatraz, but what do I do after that?  I can't really see myself running a marathon.  I know that my body is just not capable of handling that many miles.  After the 10 mile run, I knew that my knee & my feet could barely withstand more miles.  A marathon would require tons of training & maybe new joints & stuff like that.

This is really a hard decision for me.  Since I started doing all this crazy working out 2 years ago, I had ideas of what I would like to do, complete a triathlon, run a bunch of races & work up to a 1/2 marathon.  OK, so I did the 10 mile run instead of a 1/2 marathon, but I don't feel like I'm losing anything by shorting myself 3.1 miles.  Maybe I am, but who knows?

I recently started taking yoga.  I do like it, but I don't think there's some big yoga championship I can enter, especially since I can barely keep my leg on my thigh during sweaty tree pose.  I'm going to have to consult with some of my more savvy workout friends & see what they say.

I guess I still really need to focus on New Hampshire & then getting into the Alcatraz lottery, or whatever crazy registration process they have.  I can focus on my goals for 2011 in 2011.  No need to wish my life away just yet!
