Biking in Maine

Kennebunkport Maine is one of the nicest weekend places to go.  There is so much to do there.  On Saturday we rented bikes & rode all over.  I think we did about 15 miles.  First we headed out to the beach to check out Walker's Point.  What a great view of the ocean!  I've always had a hard time trying to get any exercising in while vacationing, which is ridiculous because always see people jogging or riding bikes every place I've ever been.  We rented beach cruisers, so I think that made the workout a little harder, no gears.  & it's been a long time since I've had a bike where you had to pedal backwards to break.  Took a few minutes to get used to.

But we rode all along the beach and into Kennebunk Center.  A really nice ride along a Maine road - where people were getting ready for Halloween.  Unfortunately every place we stopped was loaded up with candy, seriously I have never seen this much candy in my life & I am a huge candy hog!  Biking on vacation is definitely worth it.  I wish I could have gotten a run in, but I was too busy feeding my face with candy!  Yes, candy is my downfall.  & we ate a lot too.

I have to get back into the whole workout plan this week.  Tonight I plan on a 4 mile run and some biking or the eliptical.  I do want to try to figure out my Espresso ID number again.  I tried it a few months ago & think that I should get back into that again.

I didn't really get all of my plan accomplished last week, but this week is a new week!  I looked at my calendar & found that I really have no plans so far this week, so I really should devote as much time possible to working towards my goal.  I figure if I can get as much workout time & strength training in prior to January, I will be on the right track towards working towards New Hampshire in August!

Just noticed this email in my inbox about a bunch of upcoming races.  I have to sit down this week & decide which ones I should do.  Here's the link if you want to check out the races & do some with me!  http://www.raceforum.com/  Decisions, decisions!
