Yesterday was race day. I was really nervous. Chris & I started the race with his fancy GPS watch that I like to call the WOPR (think War Games 1984). It really is neat. The more I told my mother about it yesterday, the more I was thinking, I need to get me a pink one! It really helped us pace ourselves. My goal was to finish in less than an hour. 57:09 was my time. I was psyched!
Do I care that 600 people finished before me? No. I'm not in it to win it, I'm in it to finish & I ran the entire race, no stopping & no walking. Not even at the water stop. That is a huge accomplishment for me. I never thought I could finish it & honestly, if it wasn't for Chris telling me we weren't going to walk, or if I had to run the race myself, I probably would have walked some. So thanks!!!!
Next thing on the to do list is to sign up for the 16 week 1/2 marathon training program. It will get me ready for the Asbury Park 1/2 Marathon in April. Yeah, crazy. OK off to pilates! Maybe I can stretch out my super sore legs, back & knees!!!!!!
