Sore Achilles Tendon

Every now & again I get a really sore pain in the back of my ankle.  Sometimes it happens when I run too far or go to the gym too many days in a row (haha that doesn't happen that often).  I had broken my ankle in about 3 places years ago & I do have a lot of soreness & poor range of motion as well.  It has held up & I even went to an orthopaedic surgeon last year to get an MRI &  x-rays to see what it looked like.  Surprisingly, it wasn't as bad as I thought.  I supposed most of the damage is to the tendons, as they never really stretched back into the right place, if that makes sense.

I ran & walked about 4 miles yesterday in Spring Lake, it was a beautiful day, but today my ankle is a little sore & I think I'm just going to do the elipitical & go to spin class.  I don't think I should pound on it for a second day in a row.  I once tore my calf muscle playing tennis & that was scary enough.  I always have a fear that I will rupture my Achilles tendon because of the previous damage to my ankle.  I do have a brace, a few braces actually, so I will have to go dig one out tonight & put it in my gym bag!
