I had to sit down today & think about how I should train. I'm sure there are many people out there who would disagree with my planning, but I have to learn from my mistakes too! I have a few races I'd like to sign up for this fall/winter. One of them is the Holy Cross Turkey Trot the Saturday before Thanksgiving. It's a 5 miler & I think may be a smaller race than the Manasquan Turkey Trot. I think I can do it. I do ok with the 5k's - I think it's time to ramp it up a little. I ran tonight for a 1/2 an hour. It was tough. Sometimes after a small break from working out, it's like I am starting from zero again. A little discouraging, but have to keep plugging away!
Next week I have to get back into the pool. I've been kinda lazy about it since my last triathlon a few weeks ago. Swimming is the easy part for me, but I have to do it. One of my biggest challenges in the pool is the boredom factor. I really want to buy the Speedo mp3 player. I think that will help me pass the time. I've always been that way, bored by swimming laps. Interesting for someone that spent 1/2 her life in a pool. Go figure. My other big problem is I'd like to start doing the master swim workouts, but swimming requires me to take off my glasses. Well, I can't see the itty bitty handwriting on the board against the wall. So either I get really good at memorizing the entire workout, or I just stick to what I know 100s til ya die. :)
& looks like there will be no more pics from my Monday night rides at least until the spring, stupid Daylight Savings Time.

I agree...stupid Daylight Savings Time. I'm totally keeping up with you here and enjoying it. I wish I was better at swimming. I think I actually need to take swim lessons to get rid of old, bad habits. I can swim but it isn't pretty and I doubt it is efficient for doing a triathlon. LOL I love the water, just don't look graceful in it. Can't wait to see what races you sign up for. And PS, candy is a weakness for me. If I eat it, I always want more. I can eat one potato chip but not one M&M.
